KHS&S Wins Two Walter F. Pruter Awards


KHS&S has won two Walter F. Pruter awards from the Western Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association (WWCCA) recognizing excellence in workmanship for the wall and ceiling industry.

The two award winning projects are Universal 651 (Universal Studios Iconic Tower) in Hollywood, CA and USC School of Cinematic Arts, Phase III in Los Angeles, CA

The Universal 651 (Universal Studios Iconic Tower) project was created on the property of Universal Studios to lead you into the new Plaza. The design of the tower and surrounding structure is based on 1920's Art Deco architecture, a theme seen throughout the Hollywood area.

KHS&S Contractors completed the following scopes of work on the project: interior framing and drywall, plaster/EIFS, insulation, fireproofing, and theming.

The USC School of Cinematic Arts, Phase III expanded the School of Cinematic Arts classroom and workspace by 62,500 square feet.

The exterior of the building is constructed of Venetian plaster, GFRC, and stone.

KHS&S Contractors completed the following scopes of work on the project: interior framing and drywall, plaster, insulation, and GFRC

The awards were presented to KHS&S at the WWCCA meeting on January 21, 2014 in Anaheim, California

WWCCA is the oldest, most powerful and meaningful active Wall & Ceiling Association in the west. We have been a functioning entity for more than 100 years. WWCCA is a non-profit organization representing over 85 subcontractors and 100 affiliates who have joined to promote the installation of quality.
